The Final Product Evaluation for Capstone Project 2016/2017-1 had successfully showcased on Monday, 5th December 2016 at Dewan Astana, Kolej Tuanku Canselor, UTM. 19 products from five different project themes, Electronic devices for campus security enhancement, Digital Agriculture, Digital home, Digital healthcare and Public safety themes, were evaluated in four parallel tracks. Each product was designed and developed by a team of four final year students within 12 weeks with budget allocation limited to RM 400 per product.

Product evaluation were assessed by 15 senior lectures, divided into four teams for each track. Six external panel from industries and related area of expertise were invited to comments and evaluated the product. There are: Dr. Zaleha Nassir –  a medical doctor from University Health Centre, Dr. Chee Yen Mei and Mdm. Husnaini Azmy –  Engineers from SIRIM Measurement and Technology Sdn. Bhd., Mdm. Sumayyah Mustafa – a field engineer from National Instruments Malaysia, Mr. Hamdan Sayuti – an engineer and agriculture producer from Agrolite Fertile Enterprse, and Mr. Wan Saari Wan Alias – a senior IT experts from CICT.

Each team was also to display a poster and simple product manual. In term of product technical hardware, each product should use at least one type of sensor/transducer, a microcontroller board (mostly uses Arduino Uno board or Raspberry Pi Board) and IoT platform for certain themes. The circuit should also be implemented on PCB and placed in a proper casing (suggested to use 3D printer available).

Four projects were awarded as best project for each track. The best project for each track is:
