The Photonics Technology Centre (PTC) was set up in 2006 and is under the Faculty of Electrical Engineering, Universiti Teknologi Malaysia.

PTC is actively involved in R&D and services related to photonic based telecommunication devices, system and technology. The center is committed to spearhead all research and academic activities in the field of photonics technology.

We have received numerous awards at local and international level. 4 products have already been patented and 8 products is being reviewed in patent search.We have succesfully succeded in securing several research grants amounting over RM 2.11 million.
